Bay Park San Diego California
I wanted to write this blog to talk about why Bay Park is actually one of San Diego’s best and undiscovered hidden little gems. I also wanted to cover what;s it;s really like to live in there!
Bay Park San Diego seems to hide under the radar for the most part as far as awareness to most San Diego residents. It’s funny, almost everyone knows where it is. We pass it everyday on the freeways but for the most part, people don’t know much about it.
Where is Bay Park San Diego?
Specifically we are talking about the area situated between the 8 freeway and the 5 freeway, mission bay, and the main Clairemont West area.

It literally blows my mind that more people don’t talk about this Bay Park San Diego. It has all the amenities most people are looking for in a great neighborhood such as a amazing restaurants, shops, café’s bars, all kinds of shopping options in addiction to being super walkable.
It’s also safe as far a crimes rates. It has its share of San Diego crime but like most of the city, the rates are far below the average for other parts of California and the country for that matter.
Even better is the fact it is located right next to Mission Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Some of the homes from the hilltop of Bay Park San Diego have the best views of Mission Bay and the ocean in the entire city of San Diego. Not
The schools (pre-school all they way through high school) are pretty good and the location for transportation is amazing. Not only are you located right next to the entrances for the 5 freeway and the 8 freeway, the train station is right there in addition to the old town hub for the San Diego trolley. This makes it one of the best locations as far as transportation in the entire San Diego.

What is the lifestyle like?
Bay Park San Diego is for the most part a small area which makes it very walkable. Some parts will have hills and inclines so keep that in mind but for the most part, things are close enough so you do not need to get in your car. The western area of the neighborhood is were you find the majority of those restaurants, bars, cafes, and shopping I mentioned earlier.
Some of my favorite places are going to be Teo Leos for Mexican food and live music, Morena automotive to get your car repairs done, high dive is pretty phenomenal for craft beers, Coronado brewing is known worldwide, Santana’s is my absolute favorite place for burritos on the planet, Sardina’s does some of the best Italian food in the city and have been doing so since the 50’s. Enjoying mission Bay and the nearby beach is so easy, Tecolate golf course is in the community, and Champs close by on Clairemont drive for those karaoke sessions (a must have for me).
Housing options in Bay Park San Diego are mostly suburban types of living. Lots of houses and some condominiums spread throughout the area. The homes tend to be priced above the San Diego average and there is a million dollar market but condos are an option in Bay Park as well meaning you can save a ton on affordability and still enjoy all the benefits of the great location.
Anyway, so that’s a little bit about Bay Park San Diego. There is so much more to this neighborhood that I highly recommend checking it out and exploring. I promise that you will be surprised by how much is actually in this amazing neighborhood.
